Founded in 2015, the Usoro Foundation is a non-profit organization with a clear mission: to support individuals in underserved communities by enhancing access to essential resources such as healthcare, education, and economic stability. Driven by the belief that every individual deserves the right to quality health services, educational opportunities, and a safe environment, Dr. I.B. Usoro established this foundation to make a lasting difference.
Mission
The foundation’s goal is to create pathways for people facing significant barriers by offering targeted support, whether through medical assistance, educational grants, or economic empowerment programs. By collaborating with healthcare providers and community organizations, we identify and help those most in need, making it easier for them to overcome hardships and work toward a stable and fulfilling life.
Collaborating with Healthcare Providers to Maximize Impact
Countless individuals worldwide, particularly in under-resourced regions, struggle to access necessary medical care due to financial or insurance barriers. The Usoro Foundation’s Medical Assistance Program provides financial relief to those with serious health conditions, such as cancer and kidney disease. Working alongside healthcare providers, we help cover treatment costs directly with providers, ensuring that patients don’t have to make impossible choices between life-saving treatment and basic necessities.
Partnering with Local Institutions for Enhanced Healthcare Access
Through partnerships with institutions like the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, we’re establishing diagnostic and treatment facilities to improve healthcare quality in Nigerian communities. Our community outreach programs further support these efforts by raising awareness around preventive care and promoting healthy practices that can lead to better health outcomes.
Empowering Education and Economic Growth
We believe that education and economic stability are key to lasting change. The foundation’s Empowerment Program provides financial grants and mentorship to individuals with limited resources who are striving to further their education or start small businesses. This initiative is available to applicants who meet specific criteria of financial need, both in Africa and the U.S. Grantees receive not only the financial support to realize their goals but also guidance to sustain their progress over time.
